Hundreds of our graduates from our travel and tourism programmes have secured work placements with Walt Disney World in Florida starting in January and August. These graduates either completed a year’s study with us or are going to work for Walt Disney as part of their Diploma programme. Our partnership with Disney means when the Disney recruiters come to New Zealand they will guarantee to interview any of the students we have endorsed.
Walt Disney World Resorts are based in Florida and are made up of four theme parks and two water parks. One of the great inclusions in this work placement is that you get free admission into the Walt Disney Resort Them Parks and discounts on select merchandise and food and beverage. This means on your days off you can go and enjoy another park. The parks that make up Walt Disney World resorts are:
Disney Theme Parks
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney Water Parks
Disney Typhoon Kingdom
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Roles may include but are not limited to Quick Service Food & Beverage, Merchandise, Full Service Food & Beverage, Lifeguard, Concierge, Resort Hospitality/Front Desk, Vacation Planner/ticket sales, Attractions Operations, Character Performer. You can choose between a six month work placement or twelve month. If you choose to go for twelve months then you may rotate between two different roles.
Expect to make friends for life as you will be placed in either a fully furnished apartment with other participants from all over the world. The cost of the apartments can vary by season and the size of the apartment and payment is simply deducted from your weekly pay. Transportation is provided to and from the theme and water parks and to local places of interest including the grocery store and shopping mall.

New Zealand School of Tourism and Walt Disney World Internship Important Information
Current conditions required to be eligible for a work placement with Disney World are:
You are a citizen of New Zealand or Australia and be at least 18 years of age when interviewed
Have completed a minimum of 32 weeks of before you start work
Are able to start within 12 months of course completion
Be responsible for all costs such as:
Airfares to Florida and return
Disney Visa fee is only $243 USD plus cost of getting to the US Consulate in Auckland
Programme assessment fee of $150 NZD
Medical Insurance ($75-125 USD per month)
Exit the United States and Canada upon completion of your internship
To be eligible for us to recommend and endorse you to Disney prior to your interview with Disney World resorts you must have:
Met the minimum attendance requirements
Successfully gained the qualification
Have the enthusiasm and people skills to ensure every Disney Guest experiences the magic
