We can help recommend a course that best suits your needs, ensuring you are making the right decision for you.
We have courses starting throughout the year and can provide you with all of the relevant information on loans and allowances and even help you get started with this application process.

Complete an enrolment form. You can do this 3 ways
- If you have been posted an info pack an enrolment form will be included.
- Download it from our Downloads page on this website.
- Complete the online enrolment form by clicking 'Enrol Now' from any of the course pages. This enrolment form will automatically be emailed straight to the campus of your choice. They will contact you within 24 hours (Mon - Fri) to discuss start dates.
Book in a time or pop in to the campus with your enrolment form and deposit, along with verification of identify. If you meet all eligibility criteria, you then need to pass our entry test and interview. Please contact the friendly sales team from the campus of your choice if you have any questions.
Once you have been accepted, a confirmation letter will be given to you.
You can then apply for a student loan and/or allowance.
Evidence of Identity
For New Zealand citizens we can confirm your identity with any of the following.
- Your student NSN number and completed enrolment form.
- sight an original or certified copy of one or more of the following documents:
i) a New Zealand birth certificate; or
ii) a New Zealand passport; or
iii) a New Zealand certificate of citizenship; or
- if a student is unable to obtain a birth certificate for the purposes above, contact the TEC to confirm that a whakapapa statement signed by both the student and a kaumātua is acceptable evidence of citizenship.

Work Ready, World Ready ™ Criteria
Student must meet the criteria outlined in the Student Handbook to be eligible for the following programme components:
- Any domestic or international Study Tours
- Flight Attending Practicals
- Conference & events work experience
- Job Fairs
- Future enrolments

Level 2 to 4 qualifications, classes are from 9am - 4pm Monday to Thursday with Friday being a half day.
Level 5 Diploma classes start at either 9am or 1pm each day for four hours. You need to have time before or after class to complete class work.
Eligibility for New Zealand School of Tourism Certificates
To gain the New Zealand School of Tourism certificates listed you need to achieve competency in all subjects and meet our Work Ready, World Ready criteria. Please refer to the Student Handbook on our downloads page for more details.

At New Zealand School of Tourism we want you to be Work Ready... World Ready so students are expected to come in corporate clothing. For more details contact your friendly sales team at the campus on 0800 10 20 20. Your Studylink course related costs can assist you with the purchase of this.

LOANS & ALLOWANCES
Student Loan Scheme
New Zealand students (NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents) are eligible for the Government Student Loan Scheme. Subject to certain conditions students are entitled to borrow the following:
- Compulsory course fees
- Course related costs
- Living costs
Course Related Costs
If you are paying for your course by student loan you are able to borrow through Studylink, an additional amount of up to $1000 per year to cover costs related to your course. This would cover items such as your corporate dress, personal transportation costs to and from course, reading materials for self-directed learning, stationery, as well as other miscellaneous items. A detailed breakdown of items and costs will be included in your confirmation letter.
Information for both the allowance and student loan schemes are available from Studylink on their website. Our friendly sales team can check your documentation, authorise photocopies of birth certificates and other documents if needed.
The Student Allowance is a weekly payment to help with your living expenses while you study and you don’t have to pay back.
As part of your student allowance you may be able to get an accommodation benefit to help with your accommodation costs. It is available to NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents and is means tested if you are under 24 years of age. Eligibility depends on a number of factors including your income and that of your parents.
