Kia Ora, and welcome to our Rotorua campus located in the heart of New Zealand tourism, and home to the city that showcases our Maori culture.

Voted New Zealand’s most beautiful city, six times, Rotorua is truly special. Take a walk through the city streets located on the side of the lake with the same name, and you will not only come across some stunning historic buildings, world class cafes and restaurants but the geothermal hot zone provides unique sulphur vents where steam escapes up through cracks in the ground. This natural phenomenon adds to the areas beauty, creating many geothermal springs and spas.

Rotorua’s economy is largely based in tourism, with over 2.5 million tourist visitors per year it is an ideal location to be trained in the tourism and travel field. The New Zealand School of Tourism are specialists in tourism and travel training, our brand new campus has a stunning reception area, a variety of classrooms a good sized student common room and a private outdoor area.

The atmosphere we create on campus is a whanau (family) one. You will feel at home and cared for in our close knit environment, especially by our extremely knowledgeable staff that all have an extensive background in the tourism industry. Our warm and friendly tutors pay particular attention to get to know all our students on a one on one basis.

Facilities include class rooms, computer labs, free wifi, student lunch room including microwave, free tea/coffee, water cooler, disabled facilities as well as an airline cabin trainer and/or aircraft seats and flight attending equipment. We are located on the ground floor so there is very easy access too. The central bus stop is located around the corner by the i-SITE (visitor centre). There are 11 bus routes which cover the Rotorua urban area and it's many tourist attractions - from Ngongataha in the west, Rotorua International Airport in the east and Te Puia in the South.

Learning with us is fun and interactive; you will train and qualify for travel and tourism level 3 before moving on to your specialised electives. We have a close relationship with the tourism Industry, where you will hear from some inspirational speakers and learn about how they operate their tourism businesses. Many students are offered roles before they even graduate.
