Domestic Students
Applicants must:
have a minimum of NCEA level 3 or
a Level 4 qualification in tourism or travel
Special admission may be granted to applicants (aged 20 and over) with no formal qualifications but who have evidence of relevant prior learning and work or life experience.
To complete this programme fully online, you will need access to a basic computer and a reliable internet connection.
Memory (RAM): 2Gb minimum
Screen Size: 8" minimum and 10" preferred
Keyboard: Laptops will have a built-in keyboard but if you are considering a tablet, an external keyboard will make things easier for longer study sessions.
Camera: To participate in online video sessions and to complete some assessments, your device will need an inbuilt or externally attached front-facing camera and microphone.

Near the end of your Level 5 studies this programme provides you with the option to complete an internship (or work experience placement), lasting approximately 7-9 weeks.
The internship option may be completed at your current place of work however the workplace must be approved, and you must be in a tourism or tourism-related role. Associated assessments will relate to your internship workplace.
If you are unable to complete an internship, a workplace practices component is available to enable you to complete your qualification.
